Cold start problem/Vaccum leak (very detailed)

Okay so lately (prior to rebuild/im at 2000 miles) Ive had a problem starting my car when it cold. I have to crank it several times and everytime I try the motor runs for a few seconds then after a few tries i can rev it up but feels like it has a hard time revving up/ not responding to the throttle like normal. Then after all that it runs normally. (I have stock primaries and 750cc secondaries rest of mods are listed on the bottom)

As for my vacumm leak its located under the device attached to the intake manifold on the passenger side. The metal tube curves down from under and points out to the front of the car. Its like the size of my finger. It was capped off before the rebuild but after i found my car idling better at around 1k rpms with the cap off. It would idle kinda weird with it capped (when the car is hot it idles choppy and low with the cap on). Is this safe?

well it's going to idle shitty with a streetport. put that line back on to get rid of the vac leak and see if that helps.

no one likes a bumper.

If you're gonna bump, at least don't make it so obvious.

It sounds like you need some big time idle tuneing. I am sure there are people on here who know more about this than I do but it sounds like your idle in general is too lean, which part of the problem would probably be your vaccume leak. If the part you are talking about on your intake manifold is the IAC than there should be a screw on the side of it that you can turn to try to improve your idle... I believe turning it clockwise will allow less air through giving you a richer mix. I could be completely off base here but from what you've discribed this is all i can think of.

Sounds like a complaint about your idle if you ask me! Why don't you look for a vacuum line diagram and see what has been blocked off or post pics about it so that we can tell what the hell it is that you are talking about! It could be nothing at all! Cold Start Problem? It could be a newly rebuilt engine building up compression! Have you done a compression check? It could be your thermosensor going out, or the connector. Does it start, raise up to about 1500 rpms and then stop? check the AFM. Search Search Search Search Search if no one answers. They probably don;t have anything to say because this topic has been asked over and over and over again!!!!

okay so now i have another problem and i think its related and i dont want to post another thread....

my car is now more of a bitch to turn on when cold and once i am able to get it to idle (i have to hold on to the gas for it to idle hot/cold) and it revs up real SLOW. Also when its running it is really slow (like half power) i can get the rpms up and boost up but it hardly makes a difference in speed. heres a pic of my plugs...

the left two plugs (upper and lower left) are from one rotor the ones on the right are from another.

so the car doesn't idle at all anymore? what did you do different? Check ALL the vacuum lines for sure. How old are the plugs?

Did you check compression?

You may also want to look for a leaky injector.

Have you found any solution to your problems yet? My car does the same....it starts up but its weak and unresponsive. I let it idle for about a minute then it starts to kick in and runs normally.
