Cold start problem
Cold start problem
My car has a little problem now that the winter months are starting. In the morning, I will start it, and it will set to idle to ~1100, right where the timing advance is, and it will have a very rough idle at this point, lots of misfires. It will also never come down off of this until I bog the engine down below 1100, then it purrs at whatever until making its way down to 750.
My thermowax is set to the point where it never has any effect on the throttle, so this is just cold start enrichment coming from the ECU, otherwise I would just set the cold idle down. The car runs fine otherwise, and the TPS is in check. Timing is also set 100%.
EDIT - It will also pop and misfire if I have the car in neutral and hold the revs between 1000 and 2000. Sometimes when I'm driving and push in the clutch, it will also fall back to the 1100 mark and misfire until I bog it down then it purrs at 750 again. BAC is clean and operates normally. Idle fuel mixture is also set according to FSM procedure.
