^^^ maybe a short ram air insted of cold air would be better??
Short Ram would be worse. Unless you could some how shield the engine bay heat from the filter and have an outside air supply, you would be defeating the purpose.

most cold air setups are a waste of time. ive logged themps in my car with my microtech with a short ram style off my turbo and it was only a few degrees hotter than my cai setup (which was 100% sealed outside of the engine bay. im probably going to keep working on it though, just to pass the time.

One reason for a "CAI" for me would be to free up some room and make the engine bay look cleaner. But that's about the only reason...

Find a way to make a CAI without cutting anything, or removing the windshield washer, and I'll be impressed...

I'm going to probably just make a heat shield that blocks some of the engine bay heat, and sucks air from the hole on top of my washer (it's cut out but I reinstalled a washer) and from the gap between the hood and the body, etc.

And I'm probably going to make a panel to force more air into the radiator at higher speeds, since I don't have the stock plastic parts that go in front of the radiator.

To remove the pressure drops from the snorkle and the intake box.

Where was your sensor? What type of load did you put on the engine?

CAI are designed to get the same cooler air the stock air intake would get but with a lot less restriction.

Find a way to make a CAI without cutting anything, or removing the windshield washer, and I'll be impressed...
Impossible on our cars.....

Hopfully the hole is the same diameter as the intake piping or bigger otherwise you will just be restricting the flow and it will suck in the hot air from th eengine bay where its not 100% sealed against the hood.

CAI plumbed outside the engine bay are better in this way.
