pretty much any color, i would probably do 2 or 3 designes, one including my dual ram air idea, i would say no more than 50 dollars, and i would include the silicon adapters you would need, and if i can make the adapter plate for the 86-88 AFM's i would include them also. the dual ram air, single ram air, or the cold air for the fender would need cutting by you guys, im gonna do it to my car first when i get to make them and take pics and post them, the other cold air design will take the air from the bottom of the car probably with a hole cut in the splash shield. ill also have either 2.5" or 3" pipe, whatever floats the boat hehe and if i find out how to do the mustang MAF sensor box on the 86-88 models i will probably make them and sell the boxes to convert the signal.

it will probably be in less than a month, waiting for the deal to go through on the land were trying to buy, when it goes through my dad is putting in the smelter and i will start making intakes.

i plan on also getting a grant to put in a rotary performance shop, ill probably make lots more stuff if i do that, gotta get a dyno if i do, not a dyno within 100 miles of here

I'm deffinitely in. I like the idea and the 86-88 adapter plate is a bigger incentive

no brainer!

Uhh... YEAH! no doubt I'm in. Dual ram air? That just makes me salivate like crazy......... That would be MAD wicked! The cutting kinda scares me.... Depends what I'm cutting, ya know? The sooner you get the detials, the better, then I can run it by my dad and see what he thinks.

It sounds like some of you are invisioning big scoops sticking out of your hoods While that would be cool I dont think thats what is in mind.

My question is where is the Pipe going to run to to draw in the cold air? Getting To the cold air is going to require cutting of some kind. I had the plans for a PVC intake before my hard drive crashed I had gone gone down and priced it at home depo (and I really wish I had bought it then) and it was gonna cost me about 22 bucks plus the K&N cone filter.

So whats the Plan on this? Besides a metal pipe would get hot and transfer heat to the cold air were wanting for the engine. So it would have to be insulated.

ok the intake will consist of a pipe that replaces the pipe and connecter at the TB, i will need to look at the 89-91 MAF sensors and see how to do those, depending on which is ordered, it will have a pipe that will either go into the wheel fender to draw cold air, a pipe that goes down where you would cut a hole into the splash shield and get air there, a single ram air would go down by the passenger headlight into the air dam where the cone filter would hook up, or an air filter from Arospeed thats rectangular, which would work better, the dual ram air would consist of the one ram air pipe that goes down by the passenger headlight, a pipe will T off of that and go across the top of the fan shroud like the stock air box air thingy ma bobber lol, and it will go across and turn and go down there, im going to do this stuff and take pics before i put them for sell so you guys can see how they look, and ill get a dyno sheet before and after the intake to see the hp increase. as for the insulation, i might see if i can make a built in layer of insulation, would make the pipe look bigger, but would be two layers of alum thick plan on these in probably a month or less, maybe a little longer, but not too much any other questions welcome

Lightbulb gsl-se

please, please make a cold air intake for us 1st gen se owners. I see that you own one also so you muct know that there is squat available as far as intakes go for the gsl-se. If you put up a similar post on the 1st gen site I'm sure you would get lots of response. If you make one to fit the gsl-se you can COUNT ME IN!
I've been waiting for an intake for our cars!

Checkpoint Motors makes a K&N front mount intake system for NA's. Yes, the filter sits in the grille of the car. All mandrel bent and can be whatever color you want. Works very well on the cars that they have put it on. Not sure on price. They are located in sacramento ca. phone number is 916-852-0306

This is my logic when it comes to the whole Ram Air/Cold air Intake setup. Has anyone ever looked at the road on a nice summer day? Ever notice the radiating heat seen in the form of "waves"? Tryed to walk on pavement on a summers day?

I know we all have, so I often wonder why people think "Cold Air" and then place the intake as _LOW_ as possible to the road surface [intake through the underbelly pan?] [If high school science serves me correct a dark rough surface absorbs heat the best]...Seems like were pissing in the wind here. If we want the coldest possible air to begin with, then why not look for a high pressure area as far away from any heat source, be it the engine or road surface.

Is it just me? Does this sound logical to anyone else?

Or is it all moot point? Ive often wondered if it would even make a difference...but rather than spend hard earned money on intakes that may be "downgrading" your performance, id check it out.

true, but its doubtful that your gettin air as hot as the engine bays air, plus when its in the air dam its forcing some air in there also, would work good during the day, but even better at nigth cool roads, cool temps, and yes ill probably do some for the GSL-SE also, i have a bud that did his own little design for the GSL-SE for ram air, he kept the stock air box but he took out the filter element, ran some round 3" hose into the air dam from where the intake takes in the air and put a 6" KNN filter, it works great for him. ill keep you guys posted on the intakes and exhaust
