cold air intake?

would a cold air intake on a turbo be a waste of time?

Are you kidding? Hell no! Any internal combustion engine, turbo, non-turbo, rotary, piston (hell even your lawnmower), will run better and produce more power the lower the temp of the intake air. Breathing hot under-bonnet air through a pod filter is a power killer, and because hotter air will cause detonation much earlier than cooler air, could eventually be an engine killer!
