cold air intake?
would this sound like a possibly good idea.
1. custom piping
2 electric fan
3 intake in front of fan but at a angle to get air flow into it and still cool the engine.
Anyone see a possiblitly of pony gains?

I don't think the fan would make much difference... I think the best thing you could do is some sort of heat shielding for it... Just my $.02
sounds like a good idea but with angling the piping to go right behind the fan is too much work, to be worth it. unless your making on and your doin this in your back yard. gains arent that much. i'd say just remove the old stock fan and get the electrical, you'll gain alil more better throttle reponse with that....
go to a local junk yard n pick yourself up a e-fan from a fiero. cheap n "good enuf" cooling effienciency. just mount it right behind the radiator, find a power source with a switch or have it wired to your preference.

Don't use a switch to control an electric fan. Spend the $20 on a thermostat.
As far as your intake idea, there's no point in using a fan to try and cool it. The power lost through powering the alternator to generate electricity for the fan will far outweigh any gain you get from such a "cold air" intake.
