Coil pack?

there is an 86 7 for sale that i just found and the guy selling it says that it needs a new coil pack. so my queston is if this goes out will that cause it not to run? sorry i don't know the eletornics that well of thease cars.

Which coil is it? The leading or trailing?

i have no idea this guy is 18 and knows nothing about the car he just said that the coil pack went out so it doesnt run. so if one is out will it still run or no?

Yes, the FC can run with one coil pack out (there are actually 3 coils on that car). Sounds like you have other issues.

yeah, it will run on just the trailing coils but it runs like ****, slow to rev but still driveable...sorta. it will idle too but very low. if it is just a leading coil its not too expensive to replace, ive never had to replace one so finding a used one in good condition will work just fine.

allright well thanks for the replys and info but like i said he is 18 and doesnt know anything about the cars so i think i would have to look at it in person to get a better idea on the problem with it. i have a strong feeling it's the seals.
