i actually had a similar problem, but my car use to drive fine for a good half an hour, than started jerking hard core, once the engine really warmed up. it actually turned out to be a clogged up fuel line, i just kept pouring fuel injector cleaner everytime i filled up gas and changed my fuel filter more often than i had to, but my car didnt come up with an error code. after i did that for a bit, it went away. keep in mind my car was sitting for a year and had no gas cap.

Uhh, I don't like the term "pull the codes" for an 87 ECU. That implies that there are stored codes. Sadly, there are not, the ECU forgets them as soon as the error condition disappears. There are no injector codes at all (Heck, there are only 10 codes the ECU will display), and the only time a TPS code will be flashed is when the TPS goes open, and then only when the TPS is on the open spot! This ECU is too dumb to be used as a troubleshooting tool imho, it is easier to guess at the cause and test the suspects one by one until the culprit is found. Just my 2 cents worth!
