cluth disc replacement

i was wondering if i take out my clutch and my pressure plate is ok could i just buy a new disk and install it. or would it not work as well. i want to replace my clutch but im kinda short on funds.

They tend to wear together so if its slipping a new disc won't help as much as you think. If it's not a necessity save up a little more.
