Clutch time.....

It's getting to be that time for me to replace my clutch....

I know people seem to love ACT, friend had one in his car, engagement seemed a little harsh to me.

I had a Centerforce Duel Friction in my 300ZX before and it was a great clutch, wasn't much more harsh than stock and was great.

Now my problem is, Centerforce (as far as I can tell) only offers a OEM style replacement, no upgraded ones. It's listed at $330ish.

ACT offers supposedly a street/strip one, but on their site it shows the disck is a basic stock replacement, and just an upgraded pressure plate. It's listed at $400ish on their site.... (found it cheaper around).

Also the Bonez and RPM clutches....Bonez is about the same price as the ACT, once you add in the same things the ACT comes with.

RPM I don't know much about, it offers less pressure upgrade than the others, but it's also cheaper.....

Soooo, what clutch do you use?

I had an ACT street/strip clutch and lightened flywheel in my old CRX Si. Man, I loved it. It grabs hard and quick, but very linear engagement. Takes about a day to get used to, but every other stock clutch seems terrible and mushy after that. I've also ridden in a car with and ACT 6 puck. Man, that thing chirped the tires shifting into every gear. In my opinion, those things are for racing use only just like the disclaimer says.

The centerforce dual friction is a POS. Well that's teh general opinion of the guys on this forun anyway. I don't know, you said you liked it in your zx, but they never last worth a damn in a 7. If youhave mad cash get a clutchmasters stage 3, if you just want a great clutch get the ACT street/strip.

Go with the ACT....anything else and u might be replacing the thing again.....so spend the extra....it might save u in the long run.....

i got a clutchmasters stage 3...it does the job nicely when driving, and doesnt slip for the fun moments..like almost all aftermarket clutches...u gotta slip em more and they tend to be a bitch on hills
