clutch stuck on floor
ok so my clutch is engaging about a half inch off the floor and when i take my foot off of it it just stays there on the floor. i can reach down and pull it of the floor but 90% of the movement in the clutch is completely dead and does absolutely nothing. I just bought the car and the seller gave me a new slave cylinder and i'm hoping that is the problem. I'm obviously not driving the car right now and i need to fix it.
Am i correct in assuming this is the slave cylinder causing the problem? If so is this hard to fix?
How do i fix it? HELP....

um, it could be the slave cylinder. what that means is u dont have any pressure in ur clutch hydrolics. it could also be the master cylinder. or maybe its just not bled right.

to chang in you unbolt the old one, un screw the hose going to it, screw the hose onto the new one then bolt it in place. ohh just doing that will give you issues with fluid going everywhere so you might wanna drain it first. but before you replace it do what ron said and make sure its bled properly and aslo check to see if it has enough fluid in the master cylinder

I've had this problem too.
First of all you should check the level of DOT3 in the clutch reservoir.
If the owner gave you a new slave cylinder, he was probably aware of the problem and anticipated it going bad. That's your next check. If you need to replace it, it's not that big of a deal except that it is a little bit hard to reach it.

so here's the problem, the master cylinder is all messed up. the part he included is a new master cylinder. It is leaking fluid and was low. I refilled the fluid and bled the clutch and it was fine. i just need to find some time to get the new master cylinder in.
I fixed it and went out to an rx-7 meet where i ended up racing an old vette stingray. he got me off the line, but i reeled him in and walked him by the top of third. TII POWER!!!
