Clutch slipping

My clutch is slipping not real bad though. It only slips in 3rd or 4th at higher rpms. It doesn't slip going up hill under a hard strain. Would the clutch need to be replaced or could it just be the pressure plate?

More than likely its the disk, and it's just gonna get worse. Clutches as I'm sure you know are sold in sets of pressure plates and disks. Also replace the throw out bearing and pilot bearing as you'll be staring at them anyway. Never replace one without the other.

I wasn't positive if maybe the pressure plate needed to be a little tighter or something but I figured I would replace the whole thing anyway haha. What's the best clutch for a good deal.

I've had both a centerforce dual friction and an act street /strip at one time in my 90. The ACT was by far the better of the two. I'm ACT for life now.

About 400. But shop around maybe you can find someone having a sale. I messed up the first time around and bought an unsprung hub 6puck clutch. It was too harsh. Called up ACT and they were more than willing to help me find the right disk for my needs. Sold me just the disk.(since I had just bought everything else) Slapped the new disk in, and was happy until the day I got rid of the car.

I'll probably end up going with the OEM replacement for a little while until I can afford something else. Budget just won't allow for that. I wasn't sure what they cost though. Thanks for the help.

Not a bad idea to replace the Rear main seal while you are back there with the tranny off. Clutches are a wear item. Get a new clutch kit, new through out bearing, and make sure to send your flywheel out to be resurfaced and you should be fine.
