Clutch slave/release cylinder question

In the middle of a build and put an engine in a donor car but after it was in and was checking things out realized that the donor cars tranny didnt have the slave cylinder hooked up so my question is ... is it possible to put the slave cylinder back in without removing the engine again?

Absolutely. People swap defective slave cylinders all the time with the engine still in the car.

Take the oil filter out for a bit more room. Got a flare nut wrench?

Its cramped in there but certainly possible. I have found that some swivel joints or a wobble extension to be very helpful.

ya i can get it in there fine, its just that the clutch fork is to far forward and i can't get the holes for the slave cylinder to line up with the holes in the tranny

You will have to retract the slave piston a bit but you need to be careful to guide it into the fork when you step on the clutch the first time. You don't want to retract it so much that it won't line up and you will push the slave too far.

Just push on the piston to retract it, nothing fancy.
