clutch purchasing advice.

I was wondering if anyone has bought a clutch master clutch, and if so how does it feel. also any thoughts on an aftermarket flywheel. I'm not looking to spend alot, but i want some equipment that is better than stock.

go on ebay u can get stage 3 clutch kits for $150 aprox w/o shiping ahd the shiping is reasonable. you could posibly have your fly wheel ground down to a lower wheight taking metal off the unessisary areas.

No, you can't. You don't grind the flywheel down to lose weight, you buy a lightened flywheel for that. Everytime you post, you post **** poor information and hopefully someone starts catching on to this. Go away and learn how to ******* spell.

Clutch Masters makes a good setup. I've used them in the past but it's really dependent on what you like. If you know anyone that has one and would let you drive, I'd say that's your best bet.

I have a stage 3 clutch through clutch masters, but not the kit. it's pretty strong. I bought mine through a friend not the company.

I just installed a clutchmaster stage 1 on a friend's RX-8 yesterday. Never used one before, only ACT. It feels like stock almost as far as pedal pressure. When engaging it, the clutch grabs great. We'll see how well it performes next weekend at the local autocross. The kit came complete with the pilot bearing, throwout bearing, disc, pressure plate, and alignment tool. I personally will stick with ACT, but i beleive the CM clutch will hold just as well.

You might as well throw an aftermarket flywheel on there while you have it taken apart if you have the funds to do so. While you're in there, you could also change out your rear main seal if necessary.

Good luck.

Justin

I am happy with my setup act hd pressure plate and a cc 4 puck bronze clutch. great grip and not hard on my foot at all. O I paid about 400 for pp, clutch and both bearings. Thats my .2 cents

I used to have a CM it's just like a stock clutch. Now I have an ACT 6 puck clutch with extreme pressure plate. Kind of hard to get used to at first but then it's great. The guys at the transmission shop said the pressure plate will last forever
and when the 6 puck disc wears out I could get another for like $150. So it's well worth paying the extra $200 or so on the ACT clutch kit. It grips up strong... chirping your way through the gears.
