clutch problems, did a search..

after searching i got a few answers, but im still boggled about my situation...

i was casually driving home. there is a sort-of long road before my house, so i decided to give it some boost. i took the car to 6k rpms in 2nd and threw it into 3rd. my coordination was really bad, which made me pretty much grind my way straight into 3rd.

i come around the corner close to my house, and i cant shift it down to 2nd or 1st. i come to stop, try to put it into first, but i get grinding. i push the car a block to my house and try to see what happened.

the clutch will not dissengage. having my foot completely down on the pedal with the car in first, the car would lunge forward.

another problem i noticed is that the car would vibrate if i revved it in neutral...is it cause the clutch wont dissengage from the flywheel?

when i searched, i came across slave cylinder and master cylinder, basically the hydraulics. im hoping to god that that is the issue im having.

so, cliff notes: clutch wont dissengage. car lunges forward in first gear when clutch pedal is on the floor. car vibrates when reved.

give me some good news people =\

sounds like the slave cylinder is not moving the full amount out... like you have air in the line or something like that.

But the wierd vibration in neutral makes me think that you broke your disc or something... did you get any smells when you had the problem? Anything to indicate burning of a clutch?

I had a problem just like this and my waterpump was gone and it it had something to do with the front coolant housing getting stuck. That was before I knew what a apex seal was so I kinda forget. Anyone able to shed some light on this subject?

maybe you need a new throwout bearing?

it definitely seem like a clutch hydraulic problem.

if u look down in the engine bay towards the back from the driver's side, (have a friend step on the clutch for u)
u should see a black L shaped slave cylinder on the Transmission, and it is pushing a black thing. That is the clutch fork, does it move at all? if it does, how much?

i remember putting my tranny back in, and the cylinder and fork was misaligned. also check the fluids, see if anything is missing that may hint a leakage in your clutch hydraulic system
