clutch problem. wont go into gear

im thinking this has something to do with the freezing weather, since everything was working fine 3 days ago and now when i go to put my clutch in it feels very shallow. and when i release it all the way it sticks for a second then pops all the way out. when i go to put it into gear with the car on its not a pretty sound... so anyway im thinking its a problem with my hydraulics. im thinking maybe i should flush the system because maybe some water got in there and froze? the car is an 86 base model. has anyone had this problem? any suggestions on what to do?

yeah im even more confused now...... i added fluid to the clutch fluid tank, pump the clutch a few times and go to try to put it into reverse again with no luck. i was listening to the radio for 5 minutes and say what they hey, and try to put it in reverse again and it goes right in, with a tiny grinding (which it sometimes does normally) so i feel the clutch and its almost back to normal. i wait 2 more minutes and take it around the block and its fine. wtf.... i HATE cold weather, that sucks.. im guessing all is ok (not good but at least not terrible like something dead in my clutch hydraulics system) so right now im just hoping it ws just the weather.
