clutch Prob. fluid was empty Help

well i was driving and i accelarated fast and right after my clutch stay to the floor and did not go up it lost pressure so i pull over and look at the master cylinder and was completely empty and saw a big leak on the ground and it seemed like it was leaking from the side of the transmission.

when i got home i kept pressing the clutch many times but it was not leaking so i filled it up drove and same problem it only happens when i shift gears

has anyone had this problem and might have an idea what it is

i'll check everything out tomorow

Uh, clutch hydraulics?

The system is simple.
It consists of three components when we're talking about anything to do with the clutch fluid itself.

1) clutch master cylinder
2) clutch slave hose
3) clutch slave cylinder

If they are original or you don't know how old everything is, I recommend to replace ALL THREE.
What happens when they are all old is that the weakest-link-in-the-chain leaks first.
Replace the weak one, and the next weakest leaks.
To save you all the headaches, change all 3 at the same time.

Thumbs up

I just had a similar problem. My clutch pedal was to the floor, but my clutch fluid was full. It ended up being my slave cylinder. I hope that helps some

Squeeze the boot on the slave cylinder, does fluid squirt out? That where your problem is most likely, a hole in the hose would squirt fluid somewhere else besides to side of the tranny.

Follow RETed's suggestion, its cheap and then you can forget about it.
