You don't need a lift to do a clutch change.

Also to the OP, have you check to see if you can engage into gear with the car on and without the clutch? Are you sure there is no air in the system?

If you put it in gear and the car dosn't move in any gear, check the driveshaft, if it's turning something in the rear end gone. If the d/s isn't turning trans gone, or clutch disc destroyed..

I snapped a half shaft/chipped the spider gears a few months ago. My car went in gear fine and even sped up on the odometer if acceleration was tried. Check the rear end before you pull the clutch.

This has happened to me twice before. On my very 1st rx7 I couldn't get it to move anywhere and it went into gear solidly. I pulled the tranny and it turns out that the clutch was almost razor blade thin. The second time, I just got a 12lb flywheel and an aftermarket clutch. Got them installed and the car would not move for anything. Turns out that the friction surface on the flywheel was gone...

I would say lift the rear in the air and get some one to put it in gear and see if the driveshaft turns and/or wheels spin. If the driveshaft doesn't move the issue is going to be clutch / transmission related. If the driveshaft moves but the wheels don't it is something in the rear (diff, half shafts, etc.)

ok i lifted it, when i turn the back wheels the axel moves to the tranny, when i put in gear and rev it doesn't move. clutch feels strong, and tranny feels good. im hoping to god i didnt just break my transmission. i cant afford it

plus the guy here in orlando that did RX7's for CHEAP moved and no one can find him. ugh
