Question clutch pedal rebound spring under dash???

It seems that my clutch is hard to push in sometimes, i looked under the dash today and i saw a pretty strong spring that is attatched to the clutch pedal.

I also, saw an adjustment nut on it that seems to relieve or strengthen the tension of the spring. Would it hurt to loosen that spring a little?? i mean all that spring does is pull back the clutch pedal. Does anyone know about this spring under the dash???

no. Its fine to adjust the play. But be careful u can **** stuff up. Look in a haynes manual about the adjusting. I dont reall see how it could be hard to push in though.
