clutch measurement
clutch measurement
im doing my TII swap, and am debating on getting a new clutch. what i need to know is can i measure the stock clutch and pressure plate, etc etc for wear to see how much life is left? im going stock turbo for a while til i have the money for around 400-450 HP setup, so id rather make the stock clutch work til i go that route becuase then i can buy that clutch to support that HP, which i do not have the $ to do that now. so is there measurements for what a clutch needs to be, or a way to visually inspect it?
sorry if my english sucks cuz im a lil drunk right now so it might not make sense LOL.

If I recall(Haynes manual) the safe Limit is 3/16 of an inch on the Clutch disc.if you look at the clutch disc and see it's wearing Close to the Rivets,I would be Installing new.It sort of depends on your driving style too,as to how long the cluch would last.If you go around,Dumping the clutch at every Stop light,It won't last long. And if you Ride the clutch a lot,Same thing goes.
