Talking Clutch line and slave cylinder are in. Just need to make sure.

Ok I already had the slave cylinder from a friend on the forum and now the corksport stainless line is in
I just need to know if I havd the bleeding procedure correct or not. The way I understand it is I have a friend pump the clutch three or four times and then I open the bleeder valve for a second then close it, repeat untill no buble of air and I am done. Is taht how it goes or did I miss something? Thanx.

For some reason I could *NEVER* get that to work ever. Just hook up a hose to the valve and stick it in some clutch/brake/whatever kind of hydraulic fluid, and open the valve, then go inside and move the pedal up and down over and over with your hand, then pull it up (as it tends to want to stay down on it's own) and then close off the valve.

You will need to prime the syteme first--ie put some fluid in the slave end...I got one of those one man bleeder system things from advance auto and it works great!! What I had to do, because pumping the clutch had now effect, was to put some fluid into the bleed bottle that comes with the kit and then I pumped the clutch until it felt firm and no bubles came out... another thing you could do is get a small hose and open the bleeder screw and put the hose into a bottle containing break fluid and do the same as above... the bleeder sytem is only a few bucks and is worth ever cent...My clutch feels great--not one bit of play in it!!

Ah cool thanks. So the bottle of fluid it where the one from inside the system will end up right? I have a spare bottle and a large one that I bought for this I guess I will use the smaller one for that.

One more question I need to know: What is the size of the little bolt on the bleeder vavle? I don't think I have anythin smaller than 8 or 9 MM Am I joing to have to drop by Autozone?

Yeah I tried the one man bleeder deal once. It came with a little magnet deal that attached to the side of the car. I was thinking this thing is great after doing the passenger side. So I went to the drivers side and was was bleeding and it seemed like it was taking a long time. So I got out to take a look and the tip broke and shot brake fluid all over the hood of my car. So I had to work quickly not to affect the paint. Well.....I did loose my clear coat where the brake fluid landed as I guess I did not get every ounce off the hood like I thought. Just a little one man bleeder horror story for you. Hey they did replace the kit since they have a lifetime warranty. Great....

the best way

ok i have done this process at least 100 times or more on various vehicles in my lifetime. the absolute best way for you to bleed the system is to gravity bleed it. to do this this fill the master, open the bleeder, and do not let the fill cup go dry. after 10 min or so the slave will start to drip and eventualy run out in a stream. when this happens fill the cup close the bleeder and you are done.

so you are saying to just fill it to the max., leave the cap off, open the bleeder valve, and wait?

Ok guys I am done for the day as far as mods went.

Well I replaced my leaking dying slave cylinder and the old clutch line with the corksport one , Then I Removed the extra pullies on the main one since now I have no A/c or PS, I started a bit of engine bay clean up, I re-re-soldered my idiot light cluster the correct way this time, I removed the sub-zero start bottle and the solenoid with a custome DIY block off plate I think that is it.

Man am I tired.
