Clutch hyraulic problems.

Yeah I know I've been posting a bunch of bullshit but everytime I go to fix somethin it doesnt go my way. Just got back from my cousins where we rebuilt the clutch master and slave cylinder. My pedal had no feel except at the bottom and my clutch was slipping under load. Well, now my pedal springs right to the floor and the master wont build pressure, we took it apart twice and double checked everything. It all loks OK. We've pretty much narrowed it to the master but I dont understand how it wont work after being rebuilt. Im gonna go buy a new master tommorow and slap it in. Anybody know whats goin on before I blow my money. Thanx in advance.

This is pretty basic, but did you bleed the slave cylinder?

The conventional wisdom (rotary that is) on clutch hydraulics is that you are much better off buying new instead of trying to rebuild yourself. Many guys have had very poor luck rebuilding.
The advice on this issue is to buy all three new, do them all at once: master, slave, and hydraulic hose.
I believe that you will have to bench bleed the master, just as you would a brake master cylinder.

What it sounds like on your current master, is that the fluid is possibly flowing around the piston in the cylinder. Did you hone the cylinder out when you rebuilt it? If so, did you get a little carried away and do too good of a job?

Anyway, I went with all new when my hydraulics went south. It has worked fine for me.
