Clutch + Flywheel Recommendations

Hey everybody I'm looking to buy a new setup for my project this year.I've decided on an ACT clutch kit but am a little weary of the Xtreme Package because I want the car to be more or less my daily driver.I really don't feel like getting cramps in my legs or getting irritated in traffic.I'm shooting for 350-380 horses this year.I was hoping the street package would do but I doubt it will sustain the abuse. What are your opinions?

The xtreme package is going to be like an on/off switch with the clutch. It's not good for street driving.

So it will be next to impossible to slowly move about. The break in period is severe too.I don't want to have to learn how to handle that clutch on a break in period.and idea how the street package would perform in the 350-400hp range??

I can't quite remember but I think the SS is rated fro something like 250hp. Some one will probably come on here and call me an idiot because it's actually rated for 255...

The SS setup can hold all the power most FC's can make, that is all you need to know.

Seriously, I know people who have made 450 at the wheels with an SS setup.

I looked it up and it's rated for about 340 ft/lbs. I have an SS on my car and I really like it.

I have to be the odd duck...

Save the money buy a Spec clutch kit.. They are good clutches, reliable and for the power u are getting very affordable and not hard on your leg or your frustrations..

and back it up with a Fidanza flywheel

this is what I will be running, the ACT is a great clutch but imo a bit pricey.. Spec is a good proven quality clutch kit for a bit less.

I have heard of a couple of people that had issues with spec clutches...not recently, but still.

I have *never* heard of a single issue with an ACT clutch setup, other than them using the wrong product for their application (street/extreme/race etc.).

I mean, I think SS means Street/Strip...

A quick visit to the website probably would have cleared that up too.

Ive got the Xact 13lb (including counterweight) flywheel, and the sprung 6 puck with a stage 3 pressure plate on my car. Has a lot of clutch chatter, and some shudder (nature of the beast) from a stop...but DOES NOT slip anywhere. I can drop the clutch at 8k, and itll grab just fine. I knew what it was going to do when I put it on, so im happy with it. Revs really nice and quick too.

I also went and did the turbo tranny swap...couldnt find many hi po NA clutches. I didnt have a problem with break in...and as for the low speed, you are limited to about 10mph as a minimum without the car surging...as long as you have light throttle youre fine.

If you want comfort, or low cabin noise...stay away from this setup. If you dont mind a little more noise and clutch presence, dont worry about it. (thats all relative since i have no sound deadening, or interior, or dash or....well much else.)

An engine torque brace would kill vibrations...if I wanted to go ahead and make one.
