Clutch destruction..

Okay, I'm just curious as to what would make this happen.

Few weeks ago just driving along the car will not go into gear while running. No sounds of any kind were noticed to indicate something breaking. While car is off, it would go in and out of gear no problems. I replaced the clutch master cyl for lack of a better idea and that didn't help. So, I decided today to go ahead and pull my motor (I wanted to take care of a couple other things anyways..)

So, I get the motor out and I see this:

Get the disk out and see this ONLY on the pressure plate side--flywheel side is still in near perfect condition:

(if this is hard to make out-its the disk warn down to literally nothing.

Upon looking at some of the shrapnel I see large chunks of the disk material, which tells me it maybe wasn't even a gradual wear down but more of a sudden thing.

This was a clutch (centerforce DF) I've been running for roughly 15k miles throughout the diferent stages of my FC.

Luckily I have a spare I can replace it with but I'm hesitant to throw it on because I don't want to ruin another perfect and rather expensive clutch.

Any ideas?

Most people I know have had lousy luck with centerforce. Hard to say what caused it. Could have been defective, or could be that goofy *** centerforce pressure plate.
