Clutch + Brakes dead? Please help quick.

I was just driving through town slowly and all of a sudden I felt the car slip out of 1st gear like twice but I just put it back in and kept driving. Further down the road I went up a hill and took it out of gear as I came up to a stop sign. After that I couldnt put it in to any gear at all, and if I turned the car off and then put it into gear and tried to start it, it would stall right away, and the engine would sound like it wasnt able to crank over at all. The breaks at the same time got very stiff and barely work. Any ideas? Im getting it towed as we speak, so ill check back soon.

clutch slave probably leaked all the fluid out, and you cant disengage the clutch now

Your brakes got still and "barely work" because power breaks only work when you have the engine running and pulling vacumm on the manifolds.

What he said.

If there's still fluid in the master cylinder, then have someone depress the clutch pedal to see if the slave is pushing the fork. If that's working, then it's probably an internal problem with the pressure plate.

Thanks for the info guys. It probably is the slave cylinder. I have had to bleed and adjust it like 3 times in the past 2 months so hopefully now I can get it fixed for good. Where is the best place to order a slave cylinder?

You could look on in the For Sale areas here, for someone parting one out. Or, you could get a rebuild kit.

www.victoriabritish.com is a little cheaper than Mazdatrix, but I don't think they use OEM Mazda parts (if that makes a difference to you), as Mazdatrix usually does.
