Is it the clutch?

Hey guys, I think I might have a clutch issue, tell me what you think..

Basically in first gear I rev the engine to about 6k and pop the clutch, the car moves but the RPM seems to be constant, even when I change gear to 2nd, it stays around the 6k mark. This is all trying to shift fast, but when I rev normally(4k) to change gears, it's fine. So the questions is, is my clutch on it's way out? Thanks in advance for your answers. ~Wei

Just a thought here, but I used to be able to spin the clutch in my tII. Sometimes I would try to take off and the car had enough power that the clutch would slip. The car would move like you say but the rpm's would stay high and the car was slow. When I let off the gas some, the rpm's went down, the clutch would grab and the car would go. That being said, it could be that your clutch is on it's way out. Or it could be that you're trying to drop the clutch at 6k and the stock disk and pressure plate suck. Or a combination of the two.

if your worrying about it slipping put it in second try to take of normally if it trys to stall your clutch is fine, if the rpms rise and carries you your clutch is bad
