Clunking Noise

Yes I have searched this and im not sure what it is yet. Anyway when I leave in the morning I hit reverse out of the drive way and it makes no abnormal noise. When I put it in 1st from reverse and start to move I get clunking noises from the rear end. it lasts about 2 or 3 seconds. When I stop at the stop sign, hit 1st again it does not make any noise. Ive got one stripped bolt where the transmission mounts to the crossmember. Could that be it? its got a bunch of other bolts holding it. Its an 88 vert NA. thanks

Sounds like a front differential mount going out.

Could be what White87 said, or maybe your diff is wearing out and you got play in your ring and pinion.

Try turning your driveshaft with your hand. you might be able to feel some play. Or, with one rear wheel off the ground, and the transmission in gear, try turning the wheel with your hand. This'll give you an indication of total drivetrain play.
