clogged cat and temp

would a clogged cat cause temps to rise?
i have an S4 and the temp guage stays around 1/2.
sometimes it goes a bit higher and sometimes a bit lower but usually stays at 1/2.
i havent had the car for very long,
the car has trouble accelerating passed 3k also.
i was thinkin that both of these issues are because the cat is clogged?

just wanted to make sure and hear everyones opinion before i start trying to piece together a new exhaust system

well, take the cat off and see if it helps! 1/2 up the guage on an s4 is pretty warm, but maybe the guage is screwed. I say just hack the cats off and see what happens.
