Clock issues etc

Ok so my clock never works I mean it works but never keeps the proper time, my seat belt light is always on and it beeps off and on....and I dont think half the things in that warning cluster works....

Do I need to take it apart and solder it ?

Or is it the CPU?

Where exactly is the CPU?

Could I replace it with a used auto wrecker one to solve problem?

Search for "clock not working".

Basically, you'll have to take out the warning light cluster, desolder the whole shebang, and resolder all the connections. Took me about an hour and a half start to finish. Has nothing to do with the CPU.

Clock works fine now and has been going on a few months.

Forgot to emphasize the desoldering part. It'll go bad again if you skip that step. Simply flowing new solder over the old is not adequate. It'll work, but if you already have it out you might as well do it right the first time.

How do you unsolder it, just scrape it off or is there another method. What type of solder do you need, i know they make different metals solders

Desolder: put the hot solder iron on the conection, old solder melts.

On my 7, the clock dosent work at all, the seatbelt light is on all the time, the gauge cluster has a dimmer problem. But the gauges still work and I dont have any buzzers going off, ghess thats a good thing.
