slso, none of the lights that show you the venting position will light up.

i checked all the fuses on the drivers side kickpanel and everyone in the engine bay (just in case) anbd they were all fine. does anyone have any other suggestions?

sounds like one of the plugs on the back of the Logicon is unplugged or you have a blown fuse in the drivers kick panel fuse box.

remember you can't check the fuse by just looking at it. You need to test it with a DMM

The Logicon is the name for the climate control panel.

I just fixedthe exact same problem last week in my 87 TII. I ended up buying 2 used logicons. The first one fixed the buttons(changing to face or defrost etc) but would not change from hot to cold. The second one I put in worked but wouldn't light up the small lights for venting position. I can live with that.

If you do replace the logicon it's sorta easy. I ended up popping off the dash top cover and upluging the wire behind the dash. I then used a wire to thread the logicon wire through the dash.

I used a paint brush with some perma plate stuff that is made for car int. I kinda put it on there really thick and let it sit. I did this for a few days. I think any kind of plastic renewer would work. Just make sure it isn't oil based.
