clening up floor pan from sound deadener

After taking the sound deadener out what is the best/quickest/easier way of cleaning up the floor pan from the stuff that is left stuck so can repaint the floor pan...somewhere I read Kerosene works. Ideally would like a response from people that have gone thru this....cheers

Kerosene does work good. Just pour some onto a rag then scrub.

Dry ice for most of the work, then a little kerosene to finish up:

he stated that he already removed the deadener so i feel the dry ice is not needed at this point.

thanks ....kerosene looks like it works well apart from then having to degrease the kerosene off after...i'll go that route. yes deadener is removed, video is a great resourse...I even like the Dry martini idea to help the job go buy faster.

You know, I am always puzzled with this question at work, when it comes to sound deadening vs. weight. At work, I am always trying to keep the outside noise out, and adding sound deadening the the cars I work on. Here is what I came up with when someone brought it to my attention years ago...

Gasoline weighs about 6.5 pounds per gallon in my climate, and that is at the extreme. The typical S5 gas tank holds, realistically, roughly 15 gallons of gasoline. That equals 97.5 pounds of gas holding the *** end of our cars down.

With that said, can you really tell me that you can see an actual improvement in quarter mile times/lap times with a full tank versus one that is almost empty?

Now with that said, I usually add up the pounds of of a full tank of gas for a clients vehicles and weight that with whatever amount of sound deadening I am adding and if that value is 200% higher, I usually let them know the gas mileage will suffer slightly and I mean SLIGHTLY.
