hey I have a set of clear tail lights I wanna trade for s5 tail lights. They are entirely clear, and when the lights are on the bottom half glows red. Its hard to explain and I'll try to post some pics. Interested? I wouldn't mind just selling them as long as I had a set of s5 replacements lined up.

I belive that is very dependant on where you are. Some places require that the brake lights shine through a red lens, some places only require the light to be red.

All of those lights were custom-made by the owner of the car.

There is no requirement for the hi-stop light to have a red lense (many factory ones don't), only to light up red.

I don't like so much clear....especially on a white car. it just doesn't look right to me. I even like an orange light for the front turn signals. too bad S5's are clear stock.

I think that the clear lights look good. How did the owner of the white fc do that to his tails?

theres a difference in not knowing how and not caring to. you'll find most people don't care for so much clear. the lights on the car posted look to be well made, better than any aftermarket rear lights i've ever seen. nonetheless, you're in a minority. and to say its sad that no one here "know how to do the mod" is kind of ironic. there's quite a few engine builders, tuners, and other specialists such as suspension and electrical that view and post on this site daily. i'm glad they've spent the time learning what they know, even if they couldnt tell me how to make my own custom rear lights.

my favorite FCs are not only fast and appear well setup, but they also retain stock rear lights. now front headlights are different. i love the fc2000 kit for example. most of us have other goals that come before tail lights. nice wheels. turbo. power. more power. new seats. more power. oops, new engine. standalone ecu. new dashboard. new interior. fc2000 frontend kit. new tires. super suspension. replaced deteriorated interior and exterior pieces and wires. mmm.
