Here's a pic of the modified stock indicator lenses on my car. I removed the orange lense from the inside and replaced the clear bulbs with orange ones.



Have I improved my car or "raped" it? Everyone I've asked likes it.

 

i'm so sick of the "rice" talk... What people don't get is that all of us. Everyone of us. Is considered a ricer by domestic addicts. If it's Japanese, and you're driving it, you're a ricer. It's just funny that once you get into circles of japanese car fanatics, they start having to break down the meaning of "rice" so as they can not include themselves in it. Pathetic.

I said nothing of other japaneese cars. My perosonal taste is the stock look. The 7 looks good stock. It is a sports car. A ford probe with neon lights and clear tail lights claiming to run 9's or something is rice. If I would put graphics on my FC I would be a ricer by my defenition. I exclude no cars or group of people.

 

I don't see why some of you guys are making a big deal out of it. I plan on putting an S5 wing, S5 tail lights, and clear turn signal lenses on the '87 TII that I'm probably going to get. Plus having the black side body moldings painted to match the body paint. Call it rice if you will but I think it will look awesome. That is my opinion... feel free to flame.

 

I get angered when turbo guys dont give NA guys a second glance.

 

I think it's horrible that the new BMW's and a lot of other very high end (and high$$) cars have riced themsleves out by having clear lights.

Anyways... on to the topic at hand...

I like the look of clear lights. I don't like the altezza style taillights- they look VERY chintzy and cheap. Smoked ones look much better.

Ahem-

You can make your own lenses by getting flourescent light duffuser material form Home depot or the equivalent. There's a few different patterns to choose from. Luckily, the lenses are almost flat, so they are very easy to replicate.

Another nice look is througoly clean the inside of the housing/reflector, and paint it all silver- then use a completely clear peice of plexiglass over it.

I too have an S5 and (Like Brandon's pic farther up) have the clear lenses with amber bulbs, but they are still old, and no amount of polish will get rid of the yellowness in the plastic. Nothing looks better than nice clean, non/yellow lenses.

lol I don't think you should put them on if they weren't on there to begin with. if S5's had them then I don't care but my S4 has amber and I don't need clear ones.

more times then not, rx7 owners either have somthing illigal on it, or are doing somthing illigal with it. (not everyone, ****!) so why would you want to put spoilers and clear tail lights and tented windows? so the cops will pay more attention to you? i garentee the cops are more aware of what a small little sports car (EVEN MORE with all these "modern" effects,) than the toyota camry next to you. thats why im keeping my car modest. because if a cop sees me he'll smell the pure **** coming out of my mufflers.

and why does everyone have to make thier desisions based on what other people will think? i bet you're not thinking about how much "you like" your fancy lights when you're driving around downtown.

 

I agree. Why mod your car in the first place? I mean why did you add "true duels" to your car, they werent on there to begin with?

My car has an S5 spoiler and tailights? Does that make me an S5 wannabe? No they just look better.

Actually every once in awhile Ill look at my car parked in the driveway or in a parking lot and think "man I like how my car looks" or those GXL wheels look alot better than my old phone dials." It also helps to pick up chicks with a cool car.

 

Enough of the ricer/anti-ricer... it is his car let him do what he wants.
