Whats the best additive to clean out the engine without harming it? I just put a engine in thats been sitting for 2 1/2 months, and wanted to make sure it didnt have any carbon buildup etc. plus I think it would be good for it.

 

well theres good and bad ways....some people would suggest letting it warm up and pouring some Carb cleaner through the intake, and others would suggest a fuel additive

 

Search for ATF trick... or Water Trick

 

ATF is for regaining compression not for cleaning the motor

 

I use seafoam on my 7 it works pretty good.

 

If it runs great.. do not use addatives. 2 1/2 months ain't much. If it runs, do not fix what is not broken.

 

I did the water trick. Ran soooo much smoother... until the pulsation dampener blew.

replace pulsation dampener > doing atf/carbcleaner/seafoam/water trick
