Cleaning inside of UIM and LIMs

OK, since i have my UIM (almost) removed, I've deceided (sp?) to powder coat its replacement. I've sandblasted and cleaned the replacement already, as I had a spare, but I cant seem to get all of the gunk out of the inside of it. I had the same problem when i was stripping my UIM.

So what is the best method of cleaning it out? I've used degreaser and a wire brush, but there is still alot that I cant reach. The Dynamic chamber on the upper is even worse. SOOOOOOOOOO Is there something that I can soak it in that will disolve all of that stuff? MEK comes to mind

My other thought is a "hot tank" cleaning. But to be honest I dont know much about it. My only info on that is that V8 guys have there blocks "hot tanked" to clean them out and remove all of the paint. Would this be a good chose for my manifolds???

Any other ideas greatly appreciated

Thanks
Augie

Carb cleaner or brake parts cleaner both work well.

I just let mine soak in kerosone for a few days. Then I get some scotch brite pads and other things and tie strings to them. Then on one end of the string I tie a heavy nut. Then I just drop the nut thru the intake and drag the pad through.

Gets it rather clean.

Or if you have the cash get it extrude honed

I always used castrols degreaser in a large tub. Use a tube brush, and a small tooth brush style plastic bristle brush. Makes them new again
