cleaning engine

I have my engine pulled for a rebuild and was wondering what you guys use to clean them all up?

Solvent, carb cleaner, and Walmart's $1.97 brass barbecue brushes. A wire brass wire wheel in a diegrinder or drill can work wonders for external components, but don't use it on gasket surfaces.

Over cleaner. Best **** in the world for that kind of thing. Just make sure you don't get any on sensitive surfaces, such as wires. Right Stuff works well too. Both are pretty much acids, so they obviously do very well. A good wore brush helps out big time.
