cleaning electronic components

hey guys......if i wanted to clean out electrical components like wires and air mass sensor.....would it be ok to soak them in isopropyl alcohol for a few hours and let them air dry for a couple of days? i have a terrible power bogging down problem that won't let me accelerate very fast....on slight uphills i lose speed...i don't think the engines gone bad because sometimes first and 2nd gear works without a problem for a min or so and then it loses power.....gotta nurse the clutch a bit and ease off the gas to get it to go....
and yes i have posted this problem before in this forum...3 times i think but i still can't seem to find a solution for it....and i'm broke poor so i don't have much money to spend so i need to try to fix it myself..thanks for any tips

o and one more thing....any one know any good rotary mechanics around the northern va area? i don't mean peter ferralls either because they only deal with 3rd gens apparently...
