Cleaned my injectors today!

So I took off all 4 injectors today and cleaned them on the machine and now the car runs so good. It revs up soooo much faster than it did before and it runs much smoother. I never thought it would make suck a difference! Everyone should take your injectors to get professionally cleaned or do it yourself if you have access to machinery.

One problem, now car won't idle, I have to hold it on w/the throttle. Anyone know what could cause this idling issue?

Thanks.

did you replace your gaskets? Make sure the old ones were scraped COMPLETLY OFF. Then apply the new ones.

Huh... I'm jealous, lol. I had some injectors cleaned a while back and I didn't notice anything.

Good deal. I agree on the vac. leak causing the lack of idle. Spray 'carb-cleaner' around the engine bay and if the idle rises than you've found a leak.

Did you make sure to reuse the rubber O-rings for the injectors? If the seal isn't tight then you'll have some problems. Regardless, this does sound like a major vac. leak. Try the carb-cleaner spray trick.

Hi, El Paso person

Where did you get your injectors cleaned? It'd be nice to be able to drive down there and have it done so I won't have to wait for shipping and stuff.

Well I did them myself at my school. I know El Paso Fuel Injection will do them for $15 each. They're pretty good.

I'm going to check for vaccuum leaks. I have a lot of line if I need to replace. That sucks if it's something under the UIM...

Ok, I went out to check for vaccuum leaks and it turns out I forgot most of them, you see I was working on putting it back together really late at night. haha! I missed a big one by th MC, pressure regulator, one of the actuator ones, a couple above the oil sender, one from CC, and a couple others, plugged them in and car runs perfect now, I can't believe I forgot all that, I even forgot to tighten the two UIM bolts on the driver's side. Thanks guys.

I just got my injectors back from cleaning at www.witchunter.com
They did an excellent job.
$15 per injector, with free return shipping on 4 or more.

before I sent them out the injectors were all rusted & the red plastic was faded.

They cleaned up nicely,.. the metal parts media blasted to remove rust, the o-rings, pintle caps & screens replaced. And they somehow un-faded the red plastic tops!

after that they passed the flow checks:
; Leak Test, Spray Pattern, Static Flow, & Pulsed Flow @2500rpm..

The printout says they were within 6.3% of 550 cc/min before the cleaning & within 0.7% off after the cleaning.

Two of them run 542 cc/min @ 43.5 psi.
and the other two run 544 cc/min @43.5 psi.
