Clean Your Gas Tanks

All the junk floating in my gas tank killed 2 fuel pumps. My stock pump and my Walbro. I finally drained it and pulled the gas tank off. There was all sorts of stuff floating around the bottom, along with some electrical tape. I didn't realize that there would be so much junk in there.

There isn't really anything that can be done about rust in the tank is there? Nothing short of replacing the tank?

When i put in my walbro I accidentally dropped one of the wire nuts from the bottom of the pump into the tank and I had to fish that sonumabitch outta there, other than that it was spotless in there.
