Clean the oil pressure sender

Ever since I bought the car, my oil pressure gauge had been off. I am wondering if that is because of gooey stuff on teh sender, should I get some electrical contact spray or do i really need to take it out and clean it?

I don't think the guage is very accurate to begin with. Have you tested w/ a mechanical guage? I had to replace my sending unit on my car b/c the guage wouldnt work half the time. If you ground the wire coming off of it, then your guage should go up to the top.
But to answer your question, it might help to try and clean the contact a little bit, but no need to take it off.
