Clarification on injectors
Clarification on injectors
I have an 87 TII.
It has red injectors and a resistor pack.
I looked at an 87 TII.
It has tan injectors and a resistor pack.
WTF?
Is there a difference between the tan and red? My friend also has one with reds and resistors... They're both the stock setup, so whats the deal?

my tester is all messed up i think, lately everything reads the same resistance it seems... but i dont have time to take it all apart right now, i was just wondering if anybody had any ideas?
Both the motor originally in my car AND the JSPEC i got had red injectors and required a resistor... Thes one i looked at was the first i've seen with tan ones.

the tan ones are s4 turbo 550 cc's. sounds like you have s4 NA 460 cc's.
84-85 13B NA, low square center, 680cc, orange, 195500-0900
86-87 13B NA, low square center, 460cc, red, 195500-1350

Read the number on the injector. Should be something like 19550-1370.
You can read the resistance without removing the injectors/manifold. Just ***** the power wire at the resistor package with one lead and pull the small plug off the ECU and put the other meter lead on the green wires one at a time. You'll usually see something on the order of 8.6 ohms at each wire if you have low resistance injectors. More like 20ohms if your using high resistance injectors.
