Chronic fuel leaks

Chronic fuel leaks
I swear if its not an oring on the injector its a leaky fuel hose. I have taken my UIM off probably 5 times in 6 months to fix fuel related issues. Just sprung my most recent one earlier today. Had to rip my UIM off in a parkinglot to fix it. No big deal I guess but Im not sure If I fixed it cause after the 1/2 mile drive home none of the pool has evaporated. It was the short hose between the 2 rails. Fuel was shooting past one of the clamps for some reason and spraying all over the top of the engine... I swear I hate RX7's No real question just a rant. Anyone else have this type of problem as often as me. I dont get why they keep springing up though. Im using high quality hose and good screw type clamps... beats the hell out of me.

I had that problem when I used new "Fuel Injection hose clamps" because they wouldn't quite tighten down enough, but it sounds like you're using the slotted screw clamps already. Is the banjo bolt or Pulsation damper loose or leaking at the end of the rail then, and just leaking down the hose?

My fuel line actually 'developed' ( who knows how..) a large hole in it right after the tank.. I drove maybe 5 miles and used an entire tank of gas .. i knew my gas milage hadnt gotten that bad -.-.. Also the stock clamps tend to tear holes in the smaller lines going to your engine once they get old and crunchy

Its leaking where the short rubber hose between the 2 rails meets the lower nipple. It sprays out past the hose. Its done this at many otherl ocations though on a montly basis. I gotta hurry up and rebuild and go with new stainless lines with fittings and a standalone with new harness before I lose my cool and sell this pos. i already have another rx7 that doesnt run right, now this one is ******* with me. im about sick of it

Ahaha, I took a screen shot of that one. And yeah. I have all new hoses, new orings and grommets, and in the pasto n every other car ive worked on plain *** high quality screw clamps have been fine. Its just on this car for some reason. I swear it hates me, no other way possible for all of this **** to go wrong. Its like some sort of extra cruel whack a mole... fix one part, then another issue pops up here, fix that and 2 pop up over here... **** already, stop please. I just want to drive the damn thing. Ive driven it a total of maybe 500 miles where it ran well since Ive gotten in, which was about 8k miles ago

Ive had those chronic fuel leaks, but its all apart of the joys of RX7s. Im kind-of not afraid of those problems anymore, Im so use to it. The annoyance is that a problem will spring up at you when your busy and you don't have time / dont want to fix it right away. Ive driven on a fuel leak for a week until I finally fixed it.

Add snapped alt belt #6 to the list. I justk new the day for breakage wasnt over. Was going to get something to eat at around midnight and on the way there I heard the belt slap the underside of the hood. Luckily I had a spare and a battery tiedown bolt (left my tool bag at home for the first time ever, so I was without) and I pryed the belt on. Go me for being creative

I hope it works out for ya! I know the feeling, because I just finished totally rewiring my wiring harness myself, wire for wire. So far I'm a little over $6000 into my FC, but it should be restored to almost brand new condition when I'm finished. Maybe then I'll get to drive it for a year or two without any major problems!

I replaced the lines with stainless, fab'd my own rails and replaced my FPR with an aftermarket... I have not had a problem since... And everyone laughed and told me how useless it is to put all of that on an N/A... Beats having 911 on speed dial incase you need the fire dept...

People who think a car is less of a car because it's not a turbo or not a v8 or not made in Stuttgart need to get a freaking life. If they're so insecure with what they're driving that they need to put someone else's car down so that they can feel better, they need to just buy a ***** pump and be done with it. It'd be a much nicer world if everyone would just take joy in what they drive and forget what everyone else thinks.
I get that crap all the time myself. The moral of the story is, everytime something breaks, if I can upgrade it so that I don't have to worry about it again, I will.

i replaced the big line under the car, fuel filter, upper fuel line, and O rings when I first got the car becuase it reaked of gas and was getting HORRIBLE gas mileage. i even had to make a new gasket around the fuel pump because the dumbass i bought it from didnt bother to tell me he removed the fuel pump, stripped the bolts off, and let it sitting there loose....... The first fill up after I bought the car was a disaster... gas just kept overflowing out of the fuel pump hole! probably about 10 gallons. it would have been more if the gas station attendent didnt stop it. (i know i should have been standing there but i had to pee!)
