Chirping sound

Anyone know what might cause a chirping sound on/around the engine of a 90' vert? It chirps and has gotten louder over the last couple weeks or so. It kinda sounds metallic, maybe worn pulley/bearing, and I want to say it comes from the alternator but I cant tell. I tried a stethescope, but I cant seem to figure out the source of the chirp. Original engine has 140K, so Im hoping its not something serious. Anyone?

Disconnect belt(s) 1 at a time to isolate sound. Quick and dirty way, spray a belt dressing on 1 belt at a time to see if sound changes. I really don't like belt dressing, but........

Is this vert a 5-speed? If so, does the noise go away when the clutch is pressed in?

Mine does this.....I have a throwout bearing or something going out.

My car does that too with the throwout bearing. Really loud when clutch is disengaged. I think its nature of the beast.
