Chilton's Clutch removal steps.

I have to say, I think someone was smoking up when they wrote up the transmission removal process.

First off it tells you to remove the bolts that attach the bellhousing to the transmission -- twice.

Second, it tells you to put a 1 inch thick peice of wood between the centerlink and the oil pan to stop the engine from "Interfereing with the dashpanel"....

CAN ANYONE EXPLAIN WHAT THE HELL THIS MEANS!?!?!

The only thing I can figure is that the centerlink is the same peice that the two motor mounts are attached to i've looked all around that area and havn't found one spot that would actually support the engine and stop it from moving back and forth.

It's a moot point now since i've already got the transmission off.... but WTF!!??

*can't wait for the Copper 4 puck clutch to go on*

Flywheel is getting machined today.

Yeah, I know I've got a haynes too. But I just wanted to state the ... well.. odd instructions on removing the tranny....

Can anyone tell me what exactly the cross link is?
