Rubs only when making a tight u-turn. 5/16 spacer used and longer studs...

I have 225/50/16's they don't rub....yet another reason why I think 18's are a waste of cash. heavier, more rotating mass and it rubs.....

the 7 looks nice though, i'll give you that.......those rims look nice.....but not very practical.

( performance > aesthetics) That's just me though.

A 225/40r18 is over 1" taller ( 1.3 actually) than the stock size tire. This is why you are rubbing.

Madrx7racer : Your 16" tire profile is about dead on to the stock tire size, which is why you are ok. It is not because he is running 18" wheels, it is because he has tires that are not sized properly for the car. If he dropped down to a 225/40r18, he should be ok.

actually it barely touches the sway bar. 40's sound like they'll do the trick....

tires are to big, i have 18s and no problems, i have 235/40 in the back and 225/40 up front, and its lowered, id like to go bigger this summer, and its a rx-7, if you can drive a worked rx-7 with 16s and 18s and notice a difference you need to do more work, cause i cant tell a difference other then the bigger ones are better cause i can getting better traction, so all this oh 18s will slow you down, and there to heavy, means nothing, unless your almost stock, or using the worst parts out there
