Pretty crazy how much crap that is. Worth alot of money if the stuff is any good, if someone gets it on here il buy a set of s4- s5 housings if they are good am sure there has to be a couple sets lol.
Yeah you cannot see how well things are preserved.....BUT....if there is alot of parts in factory sealed packaging they should be good to go.
Think about it, sell all that NOS stuff for a good price and you WILL make out in the end. Then you can sell the trailer when you are done. Win Win.

First you'll have to inventory every piece so you know what you have. Then you'll have to assign a value to each part. Finally, you actually have to sell it.
I know from my modest activity on forii and eBay that a sale of a single part can involve multiple emails, which can eat up lots of time and easily becomes unmanageable without strict protocols. Expect to have to answer endless queries about "Will this fit...". Multiply this by the number of items in that trailer and you begin to see how massively time consuming "selling all that NOS stuff for a good price" could be.
Not to mention...you have to store a 40' trailer somewhere- the neighbors ought to love that- and then dispose of it when done.
Unless you know precisely what is in that container prior to buying this looks like a classic example of buying a pig in a poke.

> That's just insane. Unless you have space and time that trailer would be more of a curse than a blessing. I can already imagine the logistics nightmare with all that gear. But it is an interesting thing to see on EBAY.

I have a place to store it and I can use my in-laws MASSIVE 'garage' to separate and inventory the items. It doesn't faze me. Also I could go out and find a couple $200 FC's and have mucho parts to restore and sell the cars. Also most of my friends have FC's so they would get free pick of the litter.

I can definately attest to the fact that it will be immensly time consuming. I parted out a car recently and it was nearly a full time job for a month or two. My garage is still a mess from all the parts I have left over.
You should also notice that $1000 didn't meet the reserve. I bet he has a pretty high reserve on this thing since its a shitload of parts AND a trailer.

Also, if you read the auction closely, the parts being sold are for:
"Mainly RX-3, RX-3SP with 1st and 2nd Gen. RX-7, some R100, RX-2, RX-4, REPU with & other Mazda Rotary parts, some aftermarket parts and a few Mazda Piston model parts as well."
That says to me that maybe 10% or less of the parts will fit an RX-7 of any generation. Bid on this if you also have an RX-3, but don't expect a trailer full of FC parts.
Also, don't expect to find anything in the trailer in "sealed OEM packaging." The seller is saving that stuff for a separate auction which he mentions near the bottom of the description.
I don't know about you, but cataloging this stuff might take a lifetime! I don't know if I could look at some unidentified carburetor and tell you if it was from an R100 or an RX-2. Can you? We just went through this process on a much smaller scale cataloging a lifetime's worth of parts purchased for a 1937 Packard 120 by my father-in-law. Even with him there, we had trouble identifying some of the stuff he bought back in 1970 and just left in a box in the basement.
Now if I knew 90% of these parts were for the FC, or even the SA/FB I might be more tempted...

Yea, it would be one thing if you knew he had ten sets of nib rotor housings or something like that, where you knew you were going to make your money back. But, it looks like these are the leftover parts from Mazda's that this guy has worked on. Even if they are still in good working order, how many are really worth anything?
Things to consider:
1. Finding someone to pick up the trailer to start with, and how much will that cost?
2. Where do you store this, and where do you put all the parts as you are sorting and labeling?
3. How are you going to figure out exactly what the parts are, and what year they are for?
4. What do you do with the trailer when you are done? Selling it might be harder than you think. The tractor is what is worth money on a tractor/trailer combo. And, is it really "road worthy"? Cause it looks like it has been there a while. Bearings rusted tight? Who knows?
5. What do you do with all the worthless parts that are in there? Junkyard? Hauling them should be fun.
6. As mentioned above who has the time available to sell all of this stuff?
And so on and so forth.

I could use it as an extension to my garage. I have the perfect driveway for it too.... Think my car would fit in it?
