sorry if this is a repeat but i purchased my seven couple weeks now....and i went to smog it and failed for too much hydrocarbons and high CO (i just need a cat) the thing is it doesnt have a check engine light on the indicator lamp...on the dash....my friend told me they dont have one is this true i disconnected sensors see if it would come on but nothing...so i need info on how to have the light just illuminate when theyre checking??

 

RX-7s don't have a check engine light. They only have a small terminal under the hood for diagnostics (drivers front, behind the battery.) I don't understand why you want the check engine light to light while they are checking the car for emissions. (I have never been in for an emissions test because we don't have emission controls in my county.)

 

S4 didn't have a CEL, S5 did. if you have an S4 you don't have to worry about them checking it.

 

i was going to say the s5 did but i wasnt for sure. i just halfway remember reading that somewhere

 

i need the smog cert. to transfer the car to my name yeah i live in cali....but the thing is it failed b/c the MIL didnt come on in koeo (key on engine off) when they check the indicator lamps on the dash....
