Question check engine light

My check engine light keeps coming on. The car is fine when it is idling, no light even. Once you let the clutch out to go the car starts back firing and the check engine light comes on. Does anyone know how to get the codes out of the computer with out a diagnostics computer, or what woudl cause this problem?

Forget about buying a new one UNLESS you're rich. I think the dealer sells them for $1,000 or something close to that. Check the forum's for sale section or check ebay. I've seen them go from $20 all the way to $350. If you REALLY need your car to get around, put some premix into your gas tank. Do a search for PREMIX and you'll find lots of good info including how much to use.
