does anyone know who has the best prices on autometer guages? i am looking for the air/fuel and EGT phantom series to add to my oil and water temp. i was suprised to see that the EGT gauge on the autometer site was so expensive, i had no idea.

From my admittedly-limited experience, any EGT gauge but the Greddy will die a very quick death in a rotary environment, especially where flames are common.

I'd skip the autometer crap all together. SPI makes very nice gauges for a very nice price. And their boost gauges actually read "0" on a line at sea level, not "near or in a box marked 0"...

VDO's are nice, cheaper than Autometer pricewise, but really nice quality, hell who's going to argue with them when Porsche's use them as OEM standard.

SPI doesn't make gagues anymore from what I've read.

Try www.egauges.com for decent prices.

I've been looking at VDO as well, but they don't come with JACK for installation. Also the websites assume your going to tap the car's sender, so if your installing a new sender - your really hosed on knowing what to get.

For my water gague install (Yes I'm a newbie with gague installation):

I'm still unsure (but researching) on which sender to use, install depth, adapter bushings, where to tap (the hoses & filler nozzel is out of the question people), what depth to tap, sender bushings (BSP vs NPT) etc..

I definilty could use a good writeup (the one on fc3s.org sucks) or "gauges for dummies".

What I know is choose the 250 degree gague.

So far I've been looking at www.egauges.com. Some links below to what I'm talking about:

VDO Gagues:

Check the RX-7 Store, Jason has a Defi EGT and A/F.

I've been nothing but pleased with their service.
