Like every FC owner, I miss having a basic cup holder. I looked around online and found a couple 3D printed designs and a few sheet metal designs and decided to just build my own.

Materials:
Spare sturdy sheet metal
Covering fabric
3" drop-in cup holder (purchased on ebay for $4 shipped)
Spray adhesive

Tools:
Metal snips or grinder
Dremel
Ruler or Tape measure
Permanent marker
Straight edge
Scissors or razor

Procedure:
1) Use the dimension outline below to mark up the design on the sheet metal
2) Use the grinder, snips, and dremel to cut out the basic shape
3) Place the cup holder where you want it and trace it onto the metal
4) Cut out the insert (This part can be tricky depending on how thick of sheet metal you decide to use)
5) Test fit the cup holder (you want it to be nice and snug (do not fully press it in if you are going to wrap it with vinyl or fabric)
6) Fold the tabs down and test fit them into the tab slots in the arm rest (make adjustments and corrections as needed)
7) Spray the metal with adhesive and place your fabric onto it (Go ahead and cut everything out and fit it around the tabs so that it stays securely in place)
8) You now have two options to make the cup holder work properly: Either cut the bottom down to where in fits in the car without an issue or cut it in half and glue/melt the bottom back on)
9) Permanently assemble the unit and install it in the console
